Academic Programs Coordinator Lyana Dymova welcomed the participants of the program and thanked the partners for cooperation and professional engagement. She pointed out that nowadays we are witnessing a deeply complex and fragmented international landscape with critical challenges that refuse to respect national borders.

«This fellowship is designed to be more than just a training program. And when you return to your home countries you will carry not just knowledge, but also new friends, lasting professional cooperation and the possibility to exchange the expertise with your peers from other countries.

Russia has a great deal to offer in the area of medicine, but we are equally eager to learn from you, from your diverse clinical experiences and from your unique approaches to healthcare», – Lyana Dymova said.

Ruslan Emirveliev, Head of International Office of Sechenov University, welcomed fellows at Sechenov University:

«We appreciate your interest in this program. International academic exchange plays a crucial role today, as it creates valuable opportunities for collaboration between participants. In the field of medicine maintaining international contacts is especially important, as it enables the exchange of knowledge and best practices. I wish all of you a productive stay at the university».

The participants also got acquainted with the structure and key programs of Sechenov university. Doctor Mark Taratkin, Head of Academic Cooperation at the International Office outlined main activities of the University:

«Sechenov University offers a strong academic foundation, with a wide range of programs and areas of expertise. Today, you will also meet the supervisors who will support you throughout your fellowship. We strive to create a dynamic learning environment and provide broad opportunities for international students».

Programme Coordinator Tatyana Savelieva also welcomed the participants and emphasised the importance of professional dialogue and knowledge exchange across healthcare systems:

«You come from countries with different healthcare systems facing different challenges. When people with different experiences come together and sit at the same table, that’s when new ideas can happen.

At the Gorchakov Fund, we truly believe in the mission behind this program. We think that when you talk directly with a colleague from another country, you don't just share knowledge, you build trust».

The fellowship participants will spend the coming week immersed in educational and clinical activities under the guidance of leading Russian physicians, gaining practical experience and building international professional connections.

The InteRussia program in medicine is implemented by the Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation in cooperation with the Gorchakov Fund and Sechenov University, with grant support from the Presidential Grants Foundation.
