InteRussia fellowship in International Relations is an opportunity to immerse oneself in Russian academia, visit policy-making institutions, get to know the Russian perspective first-hand, participate in expert sessions hosted by universities, think tanks, and non-governmental organisations, as well as exchange experience with colleagues from different countries.
The main advantage of the program is the opportunity to work in close cooperation and under the guidance of leading IR specialists from MGIMO University.
The goal of the fellowship is to write an original individual research project of 20 000−35 000 characters (incl. spaces).

The program is designed for aspiring young specialists in the history, theory, and practice of International Relations, Political Science, and Regional Studies.

Who are we looking for?
The program is designed for aspiring young specialists in the history, theory, and practice of International Relations, Political Science, and Regional Studies.
PhD degree or at least 3 years of working experience at academic institutions/think tanks or PhD studies in progress
No prior participation in the programme
Absence of any employment/previous enrollment in academic programs/other relations with MGIMO University
Participants are selected on a competitive basis.

How to apply
01. Sign in
Sign in on theEnglish version of the Gorchakov Fund’s website. If you did not receive a registration verification email, check your spam folder.
02. Create application
Navigate to the "My Projects" section, click on the "Create application" button, select the "InteRussia IR MGIMO 2026 (Spring)" contest and click "Yes".
03. Сomplete all fields
Fill in all mandatory fields of the "General Information", "Professional and Academic Activities", and "Additional Information" sections.
04. Submit application
Navigate to the "Apply" section on the left, click the "Submit" button and wait for the status to change from "Preparing" to "Submitted".
05. Wait for the results
The results of the competitive selection will be sent to all candidates via email.
