Results of the Tenth Cohort of the InteRussia International Relations Fellowship

From March 16 to April 26, 2026, Moscow hosted the InteRussia fellowship in International Relations. It marked the program's tenth anniversary and brought together young professionals, researchers, and experts from different countries.

Young professionals from Brazil, France, Georgia, India, Indonesia, Iran, Pakistan, South Africa, and Zambia spent six weeks in Moscow, not only studying international relations but also applying their knowledge in practice: through discussions, research, and comparing different perspectives.

Here’s where the journey took them:

  • They developed their own analytical projects under the guidance of scholars from the MGIMO Institute for International Studies, exploring how security, science, and technology intersect in an increasingly unstable global environment.
  • Meetings with experts like Dmitri Trenin and Fyodor Lukyanov pushed discussions beyond familiar analytical frames, while exchanges with Kirill Logvinov and Sergey Ryabkov brought those ideas into the realities of decision-making.
  • Across visits to the Russian International Affairs Council, Skolkovo Business School, and the RT Headquarters, fellows saw how perspectives turn into action — from shaping policy to communicating global narratives in real time.
  • And beyond analytical spaces — cultural context. At the Tretyakov Gallery, fellows explored how art reflects identity and historical memory, while the Kremlin Ballet's “Swan Lake” showed how meaning can travel beyond words — through movement, rhythm, and shared cultural codes.

During the official closing ceremony, Lyana Dymova, Academic Programs Coordinator at the Gorchakov Fund, summarized the program and congratulated the participants on the successful defense of their research projects. "The InteRussia program was originally conceived as a tool for scientific, academic, and humanitarian cooperation. Over the five years of its implementation, it has truly become an effective tool for building professional and humanitarian ties. You are now part of the InteRussia family, and each of you has enriched it by bringing your unique perspective on a particular research problem, your approaches, and methodology. But you are returning home with more than just scientific papers; you are taking with you something much more important: true friends, trusted colleagues and partners, and unique research experience."

Daria Pripachkina, Deputy Head of the Expertise and Monitoring Department at the Presidential Grants Foundation, also addressed the program participants. “The InteRussia fellowship program has been supported by the Foundation three times, which demonstrates that the experts see the project's high significance. The international relations track is particularly relevant, as the future of the entire global community depends on international relations specialists. I hope that as a result of your fellowship, you've gained new knowledge that you can apply both in your research and in your daily work.”

Analysis, leadership, and culture came together into one clear picture — proving that international relations is shaped not in theory, but where perspectives meet and people connect.

The InteRussia Fellowship in International Relations is implemented by the Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation in cooperation with the Gorchakov Fund and MGIMO Institute for International Studies with grant support from the Presidential Grants Foundation.
