Еnergy specialists from Latin America continue exploring Russia’s energy sector through professional visits and expert meetings.
On August 6, the fellows visited the headquarters of Transneft, one of Russia’s largest companies in the oil transportation sector. During the visit, participants learned more about the company’s work and got an insight into its professional processes.
The visit also offered an opportunity to explore the historical and cultural side of Transneft’s activities. The fellows viewed the exhibition “Returned History”, dedicated to the documentary heritage of the Russian diaspora. The exhibition brings together unique archival materials, including documents and personal records preserved by Russian emigrants and their descendants. Some of the archival materials were brought back to Russia from France in 2018 with the support of Transneft.
On August 7, the programme continued with a visit to the Museum of Mosenergo and Moscow Energy. The fellows took part in a guided tour exploring the history of Moscow’s power system and the development of the energy industry. The museum’s exhibition focuses on the technologies used to produce electricity and heat and features models of power plants and equipment, historical photographs and documents.The participants also learned how combined heat and power plants operate, how electricity and heat are generated, and what equipment is used throughout the production process.
Through professional visits like these, the InteRussia fellowship gives participants an opportunity to discover Russia’s energy sector, meet industry professionals and learn about the technologies and practices shaping the country’s energy landscape.
The InteRussia international energy fellowship programme is implemented at the premises of UNECON in cooperation with the Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation, the Gorchakov Fund, and the TV BRICS international media network, supported by the Global Energy Association, the Russian Energy Agency (REA) of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the National Committee for Economic Cooperation with Latin American Countries, and the Presidential Grants Fund.
