MGIMO University Welcomes New InteRussia Fellows in International Relations

On October 21, MGIMO hosted the official opening of the InteRussia program for professionals in international relations.

The participants were welcomed by:

  • Andrey Baykov, Vice-Rector for Research at MGIMO University,
  • Irina Bolgova, MGIMO Deputy Director of the Institute for International Studies,
  • Lyana Dymova, Academic Programs Coordinator at the Gorchakov Fund.

Lyana Dymova noted: “This program is more than just a public diplomacy initiative; the scientific and academic role is crucial, many articles have already been published and are being prepared, and the real work will start after this program finishes”

The autumn cohort includes specialists from 9 countries: Afghanistan, Belarus, Brazil, India, Mauritius, Mexico, Pakistan, Serbia, and Tanzania.

After the official opening ceremony, participants were given a guided tour of the University and the MGIMO History Museum. Over six weeks, fellows will work on individual projects under the guidance of MGIMO’s leading researchers. Upon completion, participants will publish the results of their work in leading Russian and international journals.

The InteRussia fellowship program for non-Russian specialists in IR is implemented by the Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation in cooperation with the Gorchakov Fund, the the MGIMO Institute for International Studies with support from the Presidential Grants Foundation.
