Call for Applications: InteRussia Fellowship in Medicine

The InteRussia team announces a call for applications to join the InteRussia fellowship programme for foreign doctors, which will be hosted by Sechenov University.

The program aims to introduce participants to the diagnostic and treatment process at leading Russian healthcare institutions, which use innovative high-tech treatment methods. It will allow non-Russian doctors to gain practical experience in leading Russian clinics of their specialisation, as well as to take part in research activities.

Fellowship Tracks

  • Medical Engineering
Wearable medical devices and sensor systems for monitoring physiological parameters. Digital platforms and engineering solutions for personalized medicine and rehabilitation.
  • Pulmonology and rehabilitation
Modern approaches to the treatment of respiratory diseases. VR technologies and digital environments in respiratory and post-COVID rehabilitation.
  • Urology
Clinical urology and minimally invasive endoscopic treatment methods. Modern transurethral and minimally invasive surgical technologies.
  • Oncology
Multidisciplinary oncology practice. Modern methods of diagnosis, therapy, and monitoring of oncological diseases.
  • Pharmacy
Natural biologically active compounds and their pharmaceutical potential. Industrial production of medicines and quality control systems.

The fellowship will take place from May 18 to May 30, 2026.

Location: Moscow, Russia.

Working languages: English.

Who can apply?

The fellowship is open to doctors who meet the following requirements:

  • non-Russian citizenship;
  • residence outside of the Russian Federation;
  • no academic or employment affiliation with Russian educational institutions or employers at the time of application (candidates must not be enrolled in Russian educational institutions or employed by Russian organisations);
  • education in Medicine;
  • status of a doctor, a resident doctor, or pharmacist at a non-Russian medical organisation;
  • age between 21 and 40;
  • proficiency in English (a minimum level of B2).

How to Apply?

To participate in the competitive selection process, applicants must:

  1. Register on the English-language version of the Gorchakov Fund website. If you did not receive a confirmation email, please check your spam folder.
  2. Go to the “My Projects” section, click “Create Application,” select the competition “InteRussia Medicine 2026 (Spring)”, and confirm your choice.
  3. Complete all required sections of the application form.
  4. Attach your academic portfolio including links to research texts and projects.
  5. Submit the application by clicking the “Submit Application” button in the “Apply” section, and wait until the status changes from “Preparing” to “Submitted.”

Fellowship Terms

The organizers provide:

  • travel from the participant’s place of residence to Moscow and back;
  • accommodation in double rooms at a hotel;
  • a scholarship of 15,000 rubles for the duration of the programme.

Participants cover the following expenses:

  • medical insurance;
  • visa application fee;
  • meals during the fellowship period.

The deadline for submitting applications is April 6, 23:59 (Moscow time).
