The international relations fellowship programme

The programme is aimed at young foreign specialists in history and theory of international relations, as well as political science and foreign regional studies

  • Sharing experiences with fellow specialists from different countries
Opportunities
During the fellowship, its participants will draft research papers on topics of their interest under the guidance of academic advisors from the MGIMO Institute for International Studies and Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences

About programme
The Security, Science, and Technology: Managing Change in a Turbulent World programme, implemented in partnership with MGIMO Institute for International Studies, is an opportunity for non-Russian researchers to learn about the Russian agenda firsthand, attend lectures and workshops by our leading partners, exchange experience with counterparts from different countries, and visit educational, research, and socio-political venues.

Programme participants not only meet with officials and representatives of various academic schools and areas of study, but also work under the guidance of MGIMO academic advisors while drafting their own research papers.

Eligibility
  • Non-Russian citizenship, residence outside of Russia
  • Age between 25 and 39
  • Proficiency in English (C1 level and above)
  • Submission of a research proposal on the selected topic in accordance with the requirements specified in the application form
  • Absence of any employment and other relations with MGIMO (including part-time external jobs; an applicant also must not be studying at the postgraduate programme or defending a thesis at MGIMO)
  • A Ph.D. degree or at least 3 years of working experience at academic institutions/think tanks, or Ph.D. studies in progress
