The international relations fellowship programme

The programme is aimed at young foreign specialists in history and theory of international relations, as well as political science and foreign regional studies
About participants

Opportunities
During the fellowship, its participants will draft research papers on topics of their interest under the guidance of academic advisors from the MGIMO Institute for International Studies and Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences
Fellowship results
InteRussia fellowship programme for specialists in international relations was launched jointly by the Gorchakov Fund, Federal Agency for the Commonwealth of Independent States, Compatriots Living Abroad, and International Humanitarian Cooperation, and MGIMO University in 2021. This programme knows no equals in Russia.

About programme
The Changing International Security Landscape programme, implemented in partnership with MGIMO University, is an opportunity for non-Russian researchers to learn about the Russian agenda firsthand, attend lectures and workshops by our leading partners, exchange experience with counterparts from different countries, and visit educational, research, and socio-political venues.

Programme participants not only meet with officials and representatives of various academic schools and areas of study, but also work under the guidance of MGIMO academic advisors while drafting their own research papers.

  • absence of any employment and other relations with MGIMO (including part-time external jobs; an applicant also must not be studying at the postgraduate programme or defending a thesis at MGIMO)
  • PhD degree or at least 3 years of working experience in academic institutions/think tanks or postgraduate studies in progress

The programme for non-Russian specialists in international relations from CIS countries provides a chance to learn about the Russian agenda firsthand, work with prominent international researchers at the Primakov Institute of World Economy and International Relations of the Russian Academy of Sciences (IMEMO RAS), which is the Russia’s largest research center in the field of international relations, exchange experience with counterparts from different countries, and visit leading educational, research, and socio-political venues and events.
