On August 21, the official closing ceremony of the fellowship program in the field of energy for specialists from Latin American countries took place at Saint Petersburg State University of Economics. Participants included representatives of the energy sector from Argentina, Peru, Bolivia, Uruguay, Cuba, Chile, Ecuador, and Brazil.
Maxim Legashov, Vice-Rector for Economics and Finance of UNECON, addressed the participants. He expressed gratitude to the program partners and the fellows themselves.
“We have been running the program for energy specialists from Latin American countries for three years already. This time we enriched it with topics such as artificial intelligence in energy, environmental security, and the impact of the Middle East crisis. We see the program not only as an educational initiative but also as a platform for dialogue. Congratulations on the successful completion of the program, and we wish you professional success. On behalf of the Gorchakov Fund, Sergey Orlov, Deputy Executive Director, spoke to the participants.

Associate Professor of the Department of Regional Economics and Environmental Management at UNECOM Stanislav Babich addressed the participants with warm words:

Giselle, a fellow from Ecuador, shared her impressions:

The fellowship took place in two cities — Moscow and Saint Petersburg. The educational component included visits to key energy facilities and companies, among them facilities of Transneft, the headquarters of Gazprom, Mosenergo, and other industry enterprises. Participants learned about the work of the Russian fuel and energy complex, discussed issues of energy security, modern technologies, and international cooperation.
The cultural program allowed the fellows to get to know Russia better: sightseeing tours of Moscow and Saint Petersburg were organized, as well as visits to Peterhof, the Tsaritsyno Museum-Reserve, and VDNKh.
The InteRussia international energy fellowship programme is implemented at the premises of UNECON in cooperation with the Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation, the Gorchakov Fund, and the TV BRICS international media network, supported by the Global Energy Association, the Russian Energy Agency (REA) of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the National Committee for Economic Cooperation with Latin American Countries, and the Presidential Grants Fund.
