Petroleum Forum Highlights

Energy
Do you know who developed the theory of the origin of oil?

Well — our fellows certainly do. They’ve just returned from the VI International Petroleum Youth Forum in Almetyevsk, where they spent the week immersed in real industry challenges, innovation, and team spirit.

The forum brought together 250 participants from Russia and neighboring countries to tackle real challenges in the fuel and energy sector. Our InteRussia fellows joined 40 teams, diving deep into high-level project work — and three of them made it all the way to the final round.

Beyond the hackathon, the program included expert workshops, trainings on AI solutions in energy, a major Oil & Gas Summit, and even a full-scale petroleum quiz that tested everything from drilling to history.

But the journey doesn’t end here — our oil & gas fellows are just getting started. Stay tuned, we’ll be sharing more with you soon!

Oh, and by the way — the answer is Dmitri Mendeleev.

The InteRussia fellowship program for non-Russian specialists in oil and gas industry is implemented by Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation in cooperation with the Gorchakov Fund, the Academy of Youth Diplomacy, Kazan State Power Engineering with grant support of the Presidential Grants Foundation.
