Future of Petrochemistry: Inside Kazanorgsintez

The mission of our fellowship is simple yet vital: to give international colleagues a firsthand look at how Russian companies operate and to showcase their cutting-edge expertise. This time, the fellows stepped inside Kazanorgsintez — a cornerstone of the SIBUR holding — Russia’s largest integrated petrochemicals company, producing a wide range of polymers and chemical products that fuel industries worldwide.

What did they discover?

  • The Central Plant Laboratory — a high-tech hub for quality control with automated systems and advanced equipment.

  • The Polymer Laboratory — home to energy-efficient polymerization methods producing materials like polyethylene.

  • A modern environmental monitoring system — with mobile labs and Laborant, ensuring air quality and safety.

The biggest surprise was a special room for psychological relaxation — helping employees stay balanced and stress-free. A reminder that innovations are as much about people as it is about technology.

And if you’re passionate about science too — don’t miss the upcoming InteRussia fellowship in biotechnology. Participants will explore advanced labs, take part in research projects, and learn from leading Russian experts. More details are available on our website— don’t miss your chance to apply!

The InteRussia fellowship program for non-Russian specialists in oil and gas industry is implemented by Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation in cooperation with the Gorchakov Fund, the Academy of Youth Diplomacy, Kazan State Power Engineering with grant support of the Presidential Grants Foundation.
