On August 8, InteRussia energy fellows from Latin America visited the ATOM Museum at VDNH — a scientific and technological museum dedicated to the history, development and future of the nuclear industry.
During the guided tour, the fellows explored the key stages in the development of nuclear energy, learned about landmark achievements in Russian nuclear science and technology, and discussed how nuclear technologies are shaping the future of the energy sector. The tour also introduced them to the principles behind modern nuclear technologies in an accessible and interactive format.
A special part of the visit was the museum’s interactive Atomarium, where visitors can explore fundamental physical phenomena and see how scientific principles are applied in real technologies. The fellows had an opportunity to learn more about such concepts as particle acceleration and nuclear fusion, including through interactive exhibits demonstrating the operation of a reactor.
The visit offered the participants an opportunity to look at nuclear energy not only from a historical perspective, but also as an important part of the modern energy landscape and its future development.
The InteRussia international energy fellowship programme is implemented at the premises of UNECON in cooperation with the Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation, the Gorchakov Fund, and the TV BRICS international media network, supported by the Global Energy Association, the Russian Energy Agency (REA) of the Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation, the National Committee for Economic Cooperation with Latin American Countries, and the Presidential Grants Fund.
