Young Biotechnology Specialists from 6 Countries Begin Fellowship at Skoltech

On October 21, the InteRussia fellowship program in life sciences officially kicked off at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology. This year’s program brings together specialists in agricultural biotechnology and biology from 6 countries: Azerbaijan, Ghana, Cuba, Nigeria, China and Turkmenistan.

Welcoming remarks were delivered by Denis Stolyarov, Skoltech’s Dean of Students, Sergey Orlov, Deputy Executive Director of the Gorchakov Fund , who noted the program’s importance for international scientific cooperation.

“It is a pleasure to receive you all in our not so sunny but warm Moscow. We, as the Gorchakov family, we function as an instrument of public diplomacy in Russia. And all we do, we try to connect people, to exchange opinions between new people and experts in different fields. We started our programs in the field on international affairs. And step by step, we realized that we need something new to try to show our foreign friends what Russia has and what Russia does in different fields. And that's why we operate program in technologies, in life sciences, with our partners from Skoltech.” Sergey Orlov, Deputy Executive Director of the Gorchakov Fund, said about the program.

Throughout the program, participants will attend masterclasses and workshops conducted by experts in the life sciences, take part in meetings with specialists, and explore the rich cultural and historical heritage of Moscow. This comprehensive experience is designed to deepen their knowledge, enhance professional skills, and strengthen international academic and cultural ties.

The InteRussia fellowship program for non-Russian specialists in biotechnology is implemented by the Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation in cooperation with the Gorchakov Fund, the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology, and the Presidential Grants Foundation.
