InteRussia Engineering Fellows Siberian Routine

Engineering
What if your workday meant exploring nanomaterials, stepping inside a quantum lab, spotting rare animals — and cruising down a Siberian river by sunset?

For our InteRussia engineers, that’s just another week at Novosibirsk State University. Here, the boundaries between labs, classrooms, and the real world are blurred — because innovation doesn’t sit still.

So what does a “regular” day look like?
  • Hands-on experiments at the Analytical and Technological Research Center, where fellows got up close with cutting-edge nanosystems and learned how multicomponent materials are actually synthesized.
  • A deep dive into the Quantum Technologies Lab, where future-forward communication systems and quantum breakthroughs are born.
  • A visit to the Federal Center for Neurosurgery, where fellows saw how high-precision engineering is transforming patient care and neurosurgical solutions.
  • An excursion to the Novosibirsk Zoo — because even engineers need a recharge.

And the best part? We’re only halfway through.

More labs, more discoveries, more collaboration — and a few surprises — are still ahead. Stay tuned as our fellows keep building, connecting, and redefining what it means to be an engineer in the 21st century.

The InteRussia program in engineering is implemented with the support from the Presidential Grants Foundation and World Youth Festival Directorate.
