On September 1, Skoltech hosted the opening ceremony of a fellowship for international specialists in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM). The program brings together participants from 13 countries. Throughout September, they will explore the tools and methods of innovation, develop their own projects, and learn how to turn technological ideas into practical solutions.
At the opening ceremony, the participants were welcomed by:
— Viktor Vekselberg, Deputy Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Skoltech;
— Yulia Gorbunova, Skoltech President, RAS Academician;;
— Lyana Dymova, Coordinator of Scientific Programs at the Alexander Gorchakov Public Diplomacy Fund;
— Denis Stolyarov, Dean of Students, Skoltech;
— Anna Salnikova, Head of the Youth Engagement Department at the Public Diplomacy Directorate of Rossotrudnichestvo.
The participants also met the instructors and invited experts who will support them throughout the program, attended their first lectures, took part in a team-building session, and joined a guided tour introducing them to the Skoltech campus and its facilities.
Over the course of the month, the fellows will go through the full innovation cycle — from identifying an idea and understanding the needs of end users to developing and testing a final solution. Working in interdisciplinary teams with the support of instructors and experts will give them hands-on experience in implementing complex projects while strengthening their innovation mindset and teamwork skills.
The InteRussia fellowship program for foreign specialists in STEM is implemented by the Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation in cooperation with the Gorchakov Fund and the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology. The program is implemented as part of Rossotrudnichestvo’s flagship New Generation initiative with grant support from the Presidential Grants Foundation.
