The InteRussia team is launching a call for applications for the InteRussia fellowship in journalism for specialists from OIC countries.

The InteRussia program is an opportunity for foreign journalists to to familiarise themselves with the Russian agenda, learn from the experience of leading Sputnik specialists, exchange experience with counterparts from different countries, as well as visit renowned educational, research and socio-political platforms and events.

Over the course of four weeks, participants will have the opportunity to meet with top Russian experts and analysts, as well as colleagues from Russian news agencies. They will additionally attend a number of practice-oriented trainings, workshops and educational seminars on various aspects of the work activities of media professionals.

Fellowship will run from April 21 to May 18, 2025.

Journalists from OIC countries are welcomed to participate.

Location: Moscow, Russia.

Working language: English, Arabic.

Eligibility

In order to take part in the selection, applicants must meet the following requirements at the close of the application process:

  • non-Russian citizenship;
  • age 25-40;
  • proficiency in English (B2 level and above).

Applicants for the fellowship will be selected on a competitive basis. The selection criteria include:

  • candidate’s professional background;
  • quality of papers published by a candidate;
  • results of the (online) interview.

Participation instructions

  1. Sign up on the English version of the Gorchakov Fund’s website. If you did not receive a registration verification email, check your spam folder.
  2. Navigate to the “My Projects” section, click on the “Create application” button, select the “InteRussia Journalism OIC 2025” contest and hit “Yes”.
  3. Fill in all mandatory fields.
  4. Click on the “Submit” button in the “Apply” section and wait for the status to change from “Preparing” to “Submitted”.

Terms of participation

The organisers will cover the following costs:

  • travel expenses to/from Moscow;
  • double accommodation;
  • visa support;
  • a scholarship of RUB 30,000 for the entire duration of fellowship.

The following costs are borne by the participants:

  • medical insurance;
  • meals.

The deadline to apply for the fellowship is March 14, 23:59 MSK. All the candidates will be informed about the results via email.
