On May 15, participants of the InteRussia Fellowship for Journalists met with Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisеnko at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation.
For InteRussia fellows, firsthand dialogue with senior officials is an essential part of the program. These meetings offer participants a deeper perspective on how international interactions are discussed, negotiated and advanced in diplomacy.
During the meeting, Deputy Foreign Minister Georgy Borisенко spoke about the long-standing relationship between Russia and the Arab world, emphasizing the shared interests and historical ties. He noted that Russia has consistently sought to support its Arab partners and maintain constructive cooperation across the region.
The fellows asked questions related to Russia’s relations with their home countries and showed particular interest in the Russian Foreign Ministry’s position on current international issues and regional development.
The discussion also touched upon:
— regional cooperation and multilateral dialogue;
— current geopolitical developments in the Middle East;
— economic and humanitarian cooperation;
— international diplomacy in a changing global environment.
The meeting provided participants with an opportunity to engage directly with a senior diplomat and gain a closer understanding of contemporary international relations and diplomatic processes.
The InteRussia Fellowship for television journalists from the Middle East and North Africa is implemented by Mezhdunarodniki Autonomous Non-Profit Organisation in cooperation with the Gorchakov Fund and RT Arabic with grant support from the Presidential Grants Foundation.
