Call for applications to join the autumn InteRussia fellowship programme for foreign journalists from the Middle East and North Africa

The fellowship will take place from 24 September to 22 October. The Gorchakov Fund is implementing it in cooperation with the Sputnik International News Agency and Radio Broadcast Service and Rossotrudnichestvo as part of the New Generation programme.

The InteRussia gives foreign journalists a chance to learn first-hand about the Russian agenda, work personally with leading Sputnik experts, exchange experience with journalists from different countries, and visit renowned educational, research, and socio-political venues and events.

Over the course of four weeks, the fellows will meet with leading Russian experts and analysts, their colleagues from Russian news agencies, attend practice-oriented trainings, workshops, and educational seminars on various aspects of media work.

The key topic of the fellowship is MENA and Russia: Background, Narratives, and Prospects.

Location: Moscow, Russia.
Working languages: English, Arabic.
The last day to apply is 25 August, 23:59 Moscow Time.

The results of the selection will be announced on 28 August. All the candidates will be informed about the results via email.


Who can participate?

We invite candidates who meet the following requirements at the close of the application process:
  • foreign nationality;
  • age 25-35;
  • professional command of English (at least B2 level).

Applicants for the fellowship will be selected on a competitive basis.

The selection criteria include:
  • a candidate’s professional experience;
  • quality of work published by a candidate;
  • results of the interview (online).

Terms of participation

The organisers provide:
  • travel from an applicant’s place of residence to Moscow and back;
  • double room in a hotel;
  • visa processing;
  • health insurance;
  • scholarship for the duration of the fellowship in the amount of 30,000 rubles.

The participants pay for:
  • meals during their fellowship;
  • a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test (if necessary and depending on the requirements at the time of arrival and stay);
