Call for Applications: InteRussia Fellowship for Journalists from Arab Countries

The InteRussia team announces a call for applications to join the InteRussia fellowship programme for television journalists from the Middle East and North Africa (MENA region), which will be hosted by RT Arabic.

The InteRussia programme offers international journalists an opportunity to gain first-hand insight into Russia’s news agenda, work with experienced professionals from RT Arabic, and exchange professional expertise with colleagues from different countries. The programme also includes visits to leading educational, public, and political platforms, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of Russia’s contemporary media environment.

In addition, international journalists will attend the St. Petersburg International Economic Forum (SPIEF 2026), one of the key international events in the field of economics and business, held from June 3 to 6.

Fellowship's main topic: "Media Dialogue between Russia and MENA Countries in a Multipolar World".

Fellowship will take place from May 11 to June 7, 2026.

Location: Moscow and St. Petersburg, Russia.

Working languages: English and Arabic.

Who can apply?

The fellowship is open to journalists who meet the following requirements:

  • citizenship of one of the countries of the Middle East and North Africa (MENA region);
  • residence outside of the Russian Federation;
  • no academic or employment affiliation with Russian educational institutions or organisations at the time of application (candidates must not be enrolled in Russian educational institutions or employed by Russian organizations);
  • age between 25 to 35;
  • proficiency in English (minimum level B2) and native-level fluency in Arabic.

How to Apply?

To participate in the competitive selection process, applicants must:

  1. Register on the English-language version of the Gorchakov Fund website. If you did not receive a confirmation email, please check your spam folder.
  2. Go to the “My Projects” section, click “Create Application,” select the competition “InteRussia Journalism Middle East 2026,” and confirm your choice.
  3. Complete all required sections of the application form.
  4. Attach a link to your portfolio.
  5. Submit the application by clicking the “Submit” button in the “Apply” section and wait until the status changes from “Preparing” to “Submitted.”

Fellowship Terms

The organizers provide:

  • travel from the participant’s place of residence to Moscow and back, as well as travel from Moscow to St. Petersburg;
  • accommodation in double rooms at a hotel;
  • a scholarship of 30,000 rubles for the duration of the programme.

Participants must cover the following expenses:

  • medical insurance;
  • visa application fee;
  • meals during the fellowship period.

The deadline for submitting applications is March 15, 23:59. (Moscow time).
