Call for applications to join the InteRussia fellowship programme for non-Russian journalists from BRICS+ countries

InteRussia Team is launching the call for applications to join the InteRussia fellowship programme for non-Russian journalists from BRICS+ countries. The project is conducted with grant support from the Presidential Grants Fund.

The InteRussia programme is an opportunity for non-Russian journalists to familiarise themselves with the Russian agenda, work together with and learn from the experience of leading Sputnik specialists, exchange experience with counterparts from different countries, as well as visit renowned educational, research and socio-political platforms and events. Over the course of four weeks, participants will have an opportunity to meet with top Russian experts and analysts, as well as counterparts from Russian news agencies. They will additionally attend a number of practice-oriented trainings, workshops and educational seminars on various aspects of the work activities of media professionals.

The fellowship programme is to take place from 29 September to 27 October 2024.

The topic is titled Where is BRICS Heading to?

Journalists from BRICS countries are invited to participate.

Location: Moscow and Kazan, Russia.

Working language: English.

The deadline for applications to join the programme is 9 August, 23:59 Moscow time.

The selection results will be announced on 29 August. All the candidates will be informed about the results via email.

Eligibility

Candidates who meet the following requirements at the close of the application process are welcome to participate:

  • non-Russian nationals;
  • age 25-40;
  • professional command of English (at least B2 level).

Applicants for the fellowship will be selected on a competitive basis. The selection criteria include:

  • candidate’s professional background;
  • quality of papers published by a candidate;

How to participate?

  1. Sign up on the English version of the Gorchakov Fund website. If you did not receive a registration verification email, check your spam folder.
  2. Navigate to the “My Projects” section, click on the “Create application” button, select the “InteRussia Journalism” contest and hit “Yes.”
  3. Fill in ALL mandatory fields.
  4. Click on the “Submit” button in the “Apply” section and wait for the status to change from “Preparing” to “Submitted.”

Conditions of participation

The organisers provide:

  • travel from an applicant’s place of residence to Moscow and Kazan and back;
  • double room in a hotel
  • visa processing;
  • medical insurance;
  • scholarship for the duration of the fellowship in the amount of 30,000 rubles.

The participants pay for:

  • meals during their fellowship;
  • a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test (if necessary and depending on the requirements at the time of arrival and stay);
