Lyana Dymova, Academic Programs Coordinator at the Gorchakov Fund, emphasized the key role of medicine not only in the development of professional skills but also in strengthening public diplomacy and fostering humane relations between nations.

«Medicine is not just a science; it is a universal language that brings people together regardless of their cultural, geographical, or political differences. Through programs like these, we build not only strong professional connections and an expert community, but also contribute to strengthening trust. We are pleased to see that even after the internship has ended, joint research projects continue, partnerships are being formed, and agreements between universities are being concluded».

She thanked all participants, supervisors, and partners who became part of the program and noted that such commitment to cooperation and the exchange of experience is a shared achievement and a guarantee of the program’s success.

Mark Taratkin, Head of Academic Cooperation at the International Office of Sechenov University, emphasised that the fellowship should serve as a starting point for long-term international cooperation and professional networking.

«We are really looking forward not to saying goodbye, but to developing bridges between us. The connections established during this fellowship can become the foundation for future partnerships between your universities and Sechenov University», he noted.

Throughout the fellowship, participants worked closely with specialists from Sechenov University, gaining practical experience in laboratories, research centres and academic departments.

Fellows particularly emphasised the importance of direct interaction with researchers and supervisors, which allowed them to connect theoretical knowledge with real-world medical and laboratory practice.

The participants also underlined the importance of international academic exchange, noting that cooperation with colleagues from different countries broadens professional perspectives and creates opportunities for future collaboration in medicine and healthcare.

Sharing their impressions during the closing ceremony, fellows highlighted both the educational and personal value of the programme.

«I learned many new things and saw laboratory instruments that I had never seen before. It was a valuable experience because I could connect knowledge with real laboratory practice. I would like to sincerely thank the fellowship team, the Gorchakov Fund and the University for your support, kindness and warm attitude», one participant said.

Participants also expressed their gratitude to Sechenov University staff and researchers for their openness and willingness to share expertise, noting that the programme had provided not only new professional competencies but also lasting international connections.

The InteRussia Fellowship in Medicine once again demonstrated the importance of international cooperation in healthcare and medical education, creating new opportunities for knowledge exchange and future collaboration between young professionals and researchers from around the world.
