InteRussia: applications are open for an internship program for foreign Russian speakers

The Gorchakov Fund, Rossotrudnichestvo and the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute are opening the application process for the InteRussia research internship program for foreign Russian speakers.

The participants will have an opportunity to get acquainted with the most significant and promising achievements of Russian scientists in the field of philology, to engage in expert sessions at universities, think tanks, and community-based organizations, as well as to work under the guidance of scientific advisors, who will be the leading academic staff of the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute.

The internship program will take place from May 22 to June 19, 2023.

Location: Moscow, Russia.

Working language – Russian.

Scientific fields of study:

  • topical issues in the methodology of teaching Russian as a foreign language;
  • ongoing processes in modern Russian language;
  • the phenomenon of classic literature;
  • language policy and international education;
  • the language of media in the digital age;
  • psycholinguistic study of tactile communication.

During the internship its participants:

  • receive training according to the program developed in compliance with the chosen field of study;
  • write research articles under the stewardship of the leading specialists of the Pushkin State Russian Language Institute;
  • take part in scholarly discussions;
  • speak at the sections of the International Kostomarov Forum;
  • attend events of the cultural educational and business programs.

Last day for applications: April 16, 23:59 MSK (GMT+3).

After the remote selection, the successful candidates will be invited to attend an online interview. The results of the selection will be announced on April 28. All the candidates will be informed about the results via email.

The outcome of the internship will be a research article co-authored with the coordinator of a scientific field and accepted for review by a highly ranked scientific journal publisher. An intern is to submit a draft research article to the coordinator three days prior to the end of the program.

Who can participate?

In order to participate in the selection, applicants must meet the following requirements at the close of the application process:

  • age 25-35;
  • foreign nationality;
  • place of residence outside of Russia.

Applicants for the internship will be selected on a competitive basis.

Terms of participation:

The organizers provide:

  • travel from an applicant’s place of residence to Moscow and back;
  • double room in a hotel;
  • visa-related support;
  • scholarship for the duration of the internship in the amount of 30,000 rubles.

The participants pay for:

  • meals during their internship;
  • a polymerase chain reaction (PCR) test (if necessary);
  • health insurance.
