On September 14, InteRussia joined the International Festival of Youth in Yekaterinburg with a session organised in partnership with the Gorchakov Fund.
Vasily Pushkov, Director of International Cooperation at Sputnik International News Agency and Radio, addressed the audience on common perceptions of Russia’s regions and how these often differ from everyday reality. He emphasised that moving beyond stereotypes requires direct experience — travelling across the country, meeting local communities and engaging with places first-hand.
The discussion then focused on practical ways of building international connections through joint projects. Natalya Alieva, Director for Partnership Projects Development and Regional Cooperation at the Presidential Grants Foundation, announced the launch of a new grant competition open to international participants.
The competition supports projects in three priority areas: biodiversity research, conservation and environmental education; parent, family and patient communities and networks of mutual support; and digital content devoted to science, culture and everyday life.
The new grant programme aims to encourage collaborative initiatives that foster deeper mutual understanding and practical cooperation between Russia and the international community.
